Going into the first year of fulltime HIGH SCHOOL teaching-- the question becomes, 'what will happen?' My trials and tribulations are as follows...

I am done with my tests!!!! Woo-hooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Other than that I know not much. The test was hard, but now it is 4 weeks of waiting til I get the results from ETS.

Almost done with student teaching. Have an interview lined up for May 8th.

Went to the doctor yesterday for a check back on the knee and ankle. My knee is in a brace now. Doc thinks may have bruised the cartilege (sp), He wanted to do an MRI, but as I have no insurance, I have no way of paying. Hence the brace.

It's raining which is a good thing cuz the fire danger level was high ~ extremely high for the last little while.

Am waiting for Jordis' tickets to go on sale. Now sounds like it will be Monday that they go on sale. That's ok though. I work tonight, don't think I will be staying awake all night. We will see though. No nap tonight.

My Knee is so-so...

Last Friday, I took Yukon up to the farm to go for a walk with Picasso and mom on the path. We were almost all the way around the path when Picasso decided he had had enough of Yukon being on the leash and he teased him one time too many. Yukon ran after him and I held on to the leash. He (or They?) yanked me off my feet. My right ankle went right; my knee went left and it felt like my kneecap disappeared for a second. It felt like the bone in my thigh smashed into the bones in my calf. Mom got me back up the hill and into her van. We went to the ER. Nothing is broken but I've got soft tissue damage.
Translation-- a severe sprain. It is really weird because I start to feel better then I try to walk and there is no strength in my leg. I've had to relie on my parents and Dave to get me around. I am going to try to drive tomorrow.

What really bites about this is the job fair is on Monday and that involves a lot of walking. Fortunately right now is testing season at school so that involves much less walking about in the schools. The kids were so cute... they were so happy to see me yesterday and today. I am loving working with the younger ones.

I did online applications for 10 different jobs in one district.

My elderly neighbors called me this afternoon. Actually it was their 50+ year old daughter. She wanted me to come over and witness her parents signing their living wills. So I hobbled over there. They were so funny! They didn't realize I'd injured myself. So I signed for them and went back home.

Yukon is pretty funny. He doesn't know what to think about the crutches. And he isn't very good at getting out of my way.

Well, I should go work on a lesson plan. The Cooperating Teacher I am working with is a stickler for getting my lesson plans two days in advance. I think I may have impressed her a bit with the crossword puzzle concept that I am working on with the first and second graders. It's about time that she realizes that I am not clueless.

They weather has been awesome here lately. But we are now getting a return to 'normal' spring-like weather. That means it is going back down into the upper 50's and lower 60's which is 15 or so degrees cooler than it has been.

Take it easy.

Just a quick update--

Student teaching is going. I will be happy when it is over and I am qualified to get into my own classroom and set up things for myself.

This weekend has kinda sucked. My dog and my parents' dog accidently caused me to twist my knee and ankle. Am on crutches now. Have to go back to the doctor in 10 days for a check-up. My knee is swollen up about the size of a softball. Yesterday it felt like the size of a football.

Getting around is a pain. About the only thing that feels ok is to lay on the couch with a pillow under my knee.

Hope spring is treating you well whereever you are.
