Going into the first year of fulltime HIGH SCHOOL teaching-- the question becomes, 'what will happen?' My trials and tribulations are as follows...

I'm 30 today and depressed. Not because its my birthday, but because of everything else that has been going on in my world. Yesterday my puppy took a bad spill on his hind legs and did the splits. He yelped, but he did get himself up and has been walking around pretty well, except with a noticeable limp. I called the vet and they said that the limp would be expected. Other than that he seems to be doing ok. He knows he has to rest.
I just hope we can find the jerks who intentionally ran over our dog. I can't believe anyone would be so cruel like that.
Dave is being wonderful. He let me sleep in this morning. And he cooked me a birthday brunch when I got up.
I should really get to work on my syllabus for this semester, but don't feel like it yet.

Oh how the NEW year sucks. I've basically decided that anything bad is going to happen to me within the first three months of any year. My favorite Grandpa died (a while ago now) in February. My little bro, Scott died in February, 2002. I busted my teeth in March. Now this....
Last week my dog, Picasso was hit by a car, intentionally it looks like based on the tire marks I saw. So he had surgery to repair his busted hip on Monday and is now home recouperating. Don't forget my 'rents are in FL for the month and only left a couple of days before New Years' Eve.
Then, my dipsh*t stepbrother decided to get hammered (remember he is suppose to be sober and not drinking at all)on Saturday afternoon and drive my parents car. He frickin' crashed it and claims that the front tire blew out on him. He got busted with multiple bottles and one open one in the car. He basically kissed custody of his daughter goodbye.
Two days ago found out my parents drain field is frozen for the winter which means we can't use too much water here at the farm.
It has been a nightmare. Fortunately, Dave is being really great and helpful and supportive.
So I hope everyone else's New Year has started off better than mine.
