Going into the first year of fulltime HIGH SCHOOL teaching-- the question becomes, 'what will happen?' My trials and tribulations are as follows...

Wow am I a slacker! Actually, I've been just getting busier and busier as the semester rolls forward. I turned in my application for student teaching today. Am slated to student teach next spring. However, I am going to an education job fair next week to see if maybe, just maybe I can get an actual, paid teaching position in an actual school district. If I can/do then I would have to take 3 different classes in the fall and would have to be observed 3 times in the classroom by either a licensed ESL teacher or by the principal. But that would alleviate having to pay SCSU for my student teaching experience.
The few people I have spoken to about this job fair seem to think that I have a better chance than most because I've got roughly 5 years experience by now. So keep your fingers crossed for me.
I am taking 3 classes over the summer, and one of them is an intensive 2-week seminar on bilingual/multicultural materials in the k-8 classroom. Ought to be interesting I think.
Well, I've got to go, am presenting in my health class today and am waiting for my team to show up.
Happy Spring to all!
